Our Story

Summer's Hairbox was founded by Tya Carodine, a busy mom of two who experienced firsthand the challenges of balancing family life, professional ambitions, and an organized home.

The story began during the hectic rush of everyday mornings. Between getting the kids ready for school and getting herself ready for work, Tya was constantly searching for hair products, untangling accessories, cleaning up spills, and trying not to create another mess she would have to deal with after a long day. Containers cracked and broke, oils leaked from their bottles, and brushes and combs seemed to find their way into every room of the house.

Eventually, the frustration became impossible to ignore: there had to be a better way.

When Tya’s daughter was just two years old, Tya began styling her hair regularly. As her daughter’s collection of hair accessories, styling products, and tools grew, so did the challenge of finding a practical way to store everything. Like many moms, Tya improvised. She used flimsy plastic containers, repurposed tin cans, tossed accessories into bags, stuffed products into drawers, and crammed everything she could under the bathroom sink.

But none of those solutions really worked.

Hair accessories became tangled and sometimes so tightly knotted that Tya had to cut them free. Styling products leaked because they had to be stored on their sides. Containers cracked and broke, while drawers and cabinets became increasingly cluttered and difficult to navigate. What should have been a simple part of getting ready each day had become a constant source of frustration.

Tya searched online and in stores for a solution that could keep hair products, accessories, and tools organized, protected, and easily accessible. But she couldn't find anything that truly met her family's needs.

That's when she had her lightbulb moment: if the solution didn't exist, she would create it herself.

Tya headed to Home Depot, purchased wood and other materials, and built her first prototype of what would eventually become Summer's Hairbox. From that first prototype, she spent countless hours researching, gathering feedback, testing ideas, and refining the design. Step by step, a simple solution to a personal problem began to grow into a brand.

Along the way, Tya discovered something that went beyond organization. Keeping her hair products protected, organized, and within easy reach made her daily routine more efficient. It meant less time searching, less time cleaning up, and more time and energy for her family, her career, and the things that mattered most.

Summer's Hairbox is more than a brand—it is a solution born from Tya's personal experience and her desire to make everyday hair routines easier for busy families.

Her mission is to give busy families practical, stylish solutions for organizing and storing their hair care products, accessories, and tools. Solutions that not only bring order to the space around them, but also make busy mornings feel a little more manageable.
